3. Groups form from similar goals. Change anything anytime by signing up again.

Remove whose sign-up?
How it works
It groups people chasing similar goals so we end up racing with our own instead of randoms.
Sign up with your name, pick a goal range or type your exact goal, and pick your time zone. Time zone is only a guide for when people play. It does not decide your group. Signing up again with the same name replaces your old entry.
You also pick the hours you plan to be able to join a lobby. Pick at least one, as many as you want, on the hour. Your hours show next to your name on the sheet, and your group card flags the hour most of your group picked. That is the time to be on, so you can start or join the same lobby together.
Groups are by goal. A race holds 9 people. If you typed an exact goal you rank ahead of people who only picked a range, and bigger goals rank higher. Range picks rank by who signed up first. If a race is full and somebody with a bigger typed goal signs up, the last person in gets bumped to the next race. Nobody gets deleted, just moved down. If you are alone in your range, you get folded into the closest group. Nobody waits alone.
When the race starts the groups lock into final form and the higher groups fill up with lower ones. If all 50 clan members signed up, the last group would be the leftover 5 and it shows (5 of 5), because the other seats in that race go to bots and randoms in the game anyway.
The timer at the top is the sign-up timer. Sign-up opens 24 hours before the race starts, and the timer counts down that window. When it hits zero the race starts, and the timer sits at zero until the next sign-up opens. It does not lock anything. The race normally starts Wednesday 4 AM Eastern (3 AM after the clocks change). Some weeks the game swaps it to Friday, 6 PM Eastern (5 PM after the clocks change). Either way the start time runs off France time, so daylight saving sorts itself out. The race runs 48 hours.
You can sign up after the race starts, but you won't be in a group. You're on your own with whoever the game gives you.
When you sign up it gives you a code. Keep it, it is how you edit or remove your own sign-up. On the same browser you signed up on, it remembers the code for you, and your name on the sheet gets an X in a circle on the left and an Edit button. The X takes you off the sheet. Edit lets you change your goal range and your time zone right on your own line. On a different browser, hit "Remove my sign-up" at the top and use your name and your code.
